OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

All Småfolk products are made from Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified materials, and our cotton products are fully OEKO-TEX® certified. With a focus on quality, comfort, and safety for children, Småfolk is committed to limiting the use of harmful substances in our clothing.

The OEKO-TEX® label guarantees textiles that are harmless to human health. Every OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 item has been tested for a wide range of harmful substances. This ensures that children are not exposed to unhealthy chemicals in our clothes and provides you with a trusted guarantee of safety.

Organic Cotton Products

Organic cotton is the main material in our collections. We choose organic cotton because it is grown without harmful pesticides, emits up to 94% less greenhouse gas than conventional cotton, and requires less energy and water.

We are proud to have been one of the first Danish children’s wear brands to use organic cotton. Today, 95% of our cotton fabrics are organic cotton with 5% elastane, making them soft, stretchy, and comfortable with great freedom of movement. Our fabrics are produced in Turkey, where the cotton is grown in Turkey and Sudan.

We use digital printing, which reduces water usage, minimizes fabric waste, and allows us to use many colors at once – perfect for our colorful universe. The colors used are also organic and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.

Winter Outerwear and Thermal Wear

All elements in our winter outerwear that touch the skin – fabrics, coatings, zippers, buttons, and reflective details – come from OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified suppliers. This ensures that no harmful chemicals come in contact with children’s skin.

Our outerwear is wind- and waterproof with high breathability (water column pressure: 10,000 mm, breathability: 10,000 g/m2/24h).
Our thermal wear is water-repellent and treated with Bionic Finish Eco, a biodegradable coating that keeps kids warm and dry in milder weather.

Bionic Finish Eco

All Småfolk outerwear and thermal wear is treated with Bionic Finish Eco, making the fabric water- and dirt-repellent, windproof, and breathable – while also protecting colors to last longer.

Rainwear

Our rainwear is made from 100% polyurethane (PU), OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, and fluorine-free (PFC-free). With welded seams and waterproof zippers, it has a water column pressure of 10,000 mm – keeping kids dry on rainy days.

Mulesing-Free Wool Collection

We use merino wool that is naturally antibacterial, absorbs moisture without feeling wet, and rarely needs washing. All our wool products are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and guaranteed mulesing-free, ensuring animal welfare.

UV Swimwear

Our swimwear is made from 80% polyester and 20% elastane, soft, stretchy, and comfortable. All swimwear has UPF50+, blocking more than 97% of the sun’s UV rays.
