Wash and care

Children jump in puddles, roll down hills, build mud cakes - in short: when children play, the clothes get dirty - and that's how it should be!

Here are a few washing tips for how to wash and care for Småfolk products - also so that they last longer. Always remember to look at the washing instructions in the clothing, as there may be individual products that have different washing instructions than described below.

Washing Småfolk cotton products

We recommend washing our cotton clothes inside out and at a maximum of 30 °C. By washing inside out, you protect the print on the fabric and ensure that it remains neat and the colors fresh. We recommend that you let the product air dry, rather than in a tumble dryer or drying cabinet, as this extends the life of the fabric and the print.

Our cotton products can be ironed at a low temperature.

Our cotton products cannot withstand bleaching.

Washing Småfolk swimwear

The UV factor in our swimwear is knitted into the fabric, which maintains the UV factor, swim after swim. We recommend that you wash our UPF50+ swimwear by hand and not in a machine, as machine washing can reduce the UV factor.

Rinse the swimwear in clean, cold water from the tap immediately after the swim. Avoid drying the swimwear in a tumble dryer, drying cabinet or in direct sunlight.

Our swimwear cannot be ironed or bleached.

Washing Småfolk woolen clothes

Woolen clothes require less washing, as they are naturally antibacterial and reduce odour. We recommend that you wash your woolen clothes as little as possible and instead take advantage of wool's fantastic self-cleaning properties by simply airing the clothes before putting them back in the cupboard.

If the garment needs washing, we recommend machine washing on the wool program at 30°C or hand washing in lukewarm water. For both parts, we recommend that you use wool detergent.

We advise against drying the woolen clothes in a tumble dryer or drying cabinet. Also avoid drying woolen clothes in direct sunlight.

Our woolen clothes cannot be bleached or ironed.

Washing Småfolk rainwear

We recommend washing the rainwear inside out at max. 40°C. By washing inside out, you protect the outside of the rainwear and extend the life of the rainwear.

Our rainwear has taped seams, which helps ensure the clothing is waterproof. Because of these taped seams, we advise against drying the clothes in tumble dryers, drying cabinets and using irons, as this can damage the taped seams and reduce the product's waterproofness.

Our rainwear does not tolerate bleaching.

Washing Småfolk quilted outerwear

Our quilted outerwear is surface-treated with Bionic Finish Eco, which is a biodegradable surface treatment that ensures that the thermal clothing is water-repellent and windproof.

We recommend washing our thermal eye inside out at max. 40°C. By washing inside out, you protect the outside of the garment and the Bionic Finish Eco treatment. We advise against using fabric softener, as it impairs the technical properties of the garment. We advise against drying the clothes in tumble dryers, drying cupboards and using irons, as this can impair the technical properties of the clothes.

Our thermal clothing cannot withstand bleaching.

Småfolk's winter jackets, winter trousers and flight suits are surface treated with Bionic Finish Eco, which is a biodegradable surface treatment that ensures that your product has a surface that is water and dirt repellent, windproof and still breathable.
